Spring Spanish Classes at Elsie Stuhr

     The Winter Spanish language classes at Elsie Stuhr start the week of March 30 and run through May 29, 2010. They are open to anyone age 55 and older interested in learning Spanish. Courses are held once a week for the period of 9 weeks. Beginning 1 is for those who have never taken Spanish or at least have not taken Spanish in several years. All classes are being taught by Mercedes Cohan.

Methods of Registration

      There are 5 convenient ways to register for programs. You can phone-in your registration by calling 503-439-9400. However, the first three to four hours of telephone registration are the busiest. During this time, you may experience the standard telephone registration greeting, busy signals, or an "all circuits are busy" message. Therefore, please defer your call to a later time if possible. You may register for your immediate family only. One family per phone call, please. Additionally, please make sure your information (registration card) is current. You may also sign up online. Household must establish an online account. Go to www.thprd.org/activities and select 'Online Registration'.

     If you would rather register via snail mail, send your completed class registration form with full payment to Registration Desk, 15707 SW Walker Road, Beaverton, OR 97006. It is also possible to fax-in your registration form including payment information to 503.629.6302. You can also bring your completed Class Registration Form to the facility nearest you! For phone-in, online, and fax-in registration, Visa, Mastercard & Discover are preferred payment options. For mail-in and walk-in registration, checks are also accepted. Current Term Registration

     Phone-In Registration for winter classes begins on Saturday, January 9, 2010 from 8:00a.m.- 6:00p.m and Sunday, January 10 from
Noon - 4:00p.m and it continues on Monday-Friday, January 11-15, 2010 from 8:30a.m.- 6:00p.m. The online registration also begins on Saturday, January 9, 2010 at 9 a.m. Fax-in and mail-in registrations begin on Monday, January 11, 2010. Fax-in registrations are processed 24 hours a day during registration hours. Walk-in registrations also begin on Monday, January 11, 2010 at 8:30 a.m. For out-of-district residents, registration begins on Fridays, January 15, 2010 at 8:30a.m. Walk-in registration is available at all facilities and continues until classes are full. You can also click here for registration information. Classes are filled on a first-come, first-served basis. Therefore, register early. Fees are due at the time of enrollment, unless otherwise stated in the class descriptions.

Family Assistance Program

     THPRD has established the Family Assistance Program to ensure that no Park District resident (in-District residents only) is denied a recreation opportunity due to financial limitations. For complete program information and to request an application form, please call the Administration Office at 503.645.6433. You can also click here to print out a form.

Course Fees

The fee for the Spring 2010 Spanish classes is $46 for In-District and $77 for Out-Of-District for classes of one hour duration & $70 for In-District and $116 for Out-Of-District for classes of one hour and 30 minutes for more information go to In-district and out-of-district residency.

 

Senior Discounts

A 25% discount is available at all District facilities for citizens 55 years and older, except at the Stuhr Center, where a discount is already included in the price.

Waiting List

     Once a class is filled, a waiting list will be created. You will be called if an opening becomes available or if additional classes have been created. Note: If additional classes are created, they may not be at the same time or day as the waiting list class.

Cancelations & Refunds

     All Programs operate with a minimum enrollment requirement, as well as maximum enrollment capacities. The District reserves the right to cancel, change or combine programs when minimum enrollment has not been met.

     When the District cancels or postpones a class, or the participant requests to drop or change a class at least 24 hours before the first class meeting, the total fee will be credited into your Park District account. When the participant requests to drop or change a class less than 24 hours before the first class (or after the first class), no credit will be applied. Requests to drop or change a one-day program/class/trip must be made at least four working days prior to the date of the activity. No credit will be applied in the Park District account with less than four days notice. Some exceptions are necessary for certain programs and classes, and these are non-refundable or may have their own refund policy. These are noted in the class descriptions. Credits in your Park District account may be used for class registration at any facility. If not used by the second week of each month, credits over $10 will be refunded by the methods of payment used. A $4.00 fee will be assessed for refunds requested outside of the scheduled refund cycle. Credits under $10.00 remain on your Park District account for future use.
